Be a Peace Lily
It’s a pretty easy plant to grow- the Peace Lily. About 6 months ago, I was thrilled when I got one home, cos it would turn out to be the first flowering plant in my home, still over cast by my black thumb. But after a couple of months where we got to know each other, it began giving me flowers for months along with a kind of joy only watching a flower bloom and grow can do. This one in the picture, broke/bent off when I clumsily dashed into it yesterday. So now, it sits pretty for all to see. Why I bring it up? Cos sometimes, the mundane, the ordinary can bring so much joy. I grew up knowing I was ordinary and boring. I even had a couple of people tell me so. (Ouch, did that hurt!). Now, I have come to embrace it. I don’t strive to be extraordinary or the coolest person around. I just strive to be like the peace lily that keeps me happy. Again wondering why I am oozing with ‘wisdom’ now? Simply cos there is more to a pretty picture than a witty caption and numerous hashtags. Some
